So Many Newsletter Issues
The first week of two newsletters, in case you've missed me since Wednesday.
Dear Best Friends,
This is the first week I’m doing TWO newsletters instead of just one. As I mentioned previously, the model I’m trying out is:
Wednesday Issue: For all subscribers, paid and unpaid, featuring interviews with artists and relevant experts to share their stories and knowledge.
Friday Issue: For paid subscribers, highlighting all of my personal progress notes and general internal commentary on what I’m doing/thinking.
I had so much fun pushing my boundaries on putting myself out there (on the internet) with interviews/social media, and honestly despite this being maybe my busiest newsletter week so far, has been the most fun. I’m really excited for where this is going and continuing to share with you all! I’m going to jump straight to my weekly notes, since I seem to have plenty to say there.
But first… 👀 😏

Weekly Notes
Thank You’s/Shout Outs
I’ve felt a lot of gratitude this week from the experience of starting to do interviews and people spending their time helping out with that. So this week, lots of thanks go to:
Yoav Sion of Sivoov Ceramics, who will be featured in next week’s interview issue. He’s married to my friend Katie and I really only know him from following his work on Instagram. So I was so happy he was willing to talk, and I won’t give any spoilers, but it was a really nice conversation.
Rachael Harms Mahlandt of PDX Dinorama (again!) for being an enthusiastic interview participant and engaging with me on Instagram after sharing her content. I got a handful of IG followers I didn’t know after she shared, which was a fun little boost.
Kate of Darn Good Work for being an amazing cheerleader, providing ongoing encouragement and empathizing with similar efforts (I could tell you more, but I’m inviting her for an interview so hopefully you’ll hear straight from her more soon)!
Tricia of Tricia’s Table for some good advice on my design template (please tell me if I’ve done it right now)!
Art From the Week
I was going to say I have no art to show at all, but I did start doodling a couple of silly pages while I was in Chicago this past weekend with some new colored pencils.

I have a bad habit of getting bored with artwork once I have the general idea on paper. Maybe I’ll challenge myself to finish this just to have a final product, even for a silly little drawing like this.

If I had done literally any other artwork at all I wouldn’t be showing you this one, so lucky for you I spent all my free time figuring out video editing instead of drawing this week!
